   I recently finished The Diamond Age, Neal Stephenson's follow-up to <a href="http://zompist.com/snow.html">Snow Crash</a>.  It's a lot of fun-- once I was about a third of the way in, I had to stick with it till I was done.  I think Snow Crash is more of a mind-blower; but The Diamond Age is a lot more coherent; it's not just a sequence of set pieces, but a unified whole....
